April round up - let's just say it's been a great month!
Chockablock, jam packed.. Call it whatever you’d like, but we had a great time this April.
The month was full of food themed days and weeks like UK Coffee Week, National Tea Day, British Beef Week and National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day. We did our best to include these into the menus we offer to our clients. While at it, we also managed to pack in a whole lot of events and activities
We were also delighted to welcome two new clients and for one of them, we will be managing a restaurant with a full lunch offer and a coffee bar (in association with Grind) with breakfast service.
An absolutely delicious Lebanese themed lunch with Lamb shawarma, baked chicken in spicy tahini, a mezze platter and baklava for a sweet treat
Thai themed menu
We do love going all out for our themed menus. The Thai menu had classics such as Gai pad krapow (basil chicken), Mushroom tom kha and banana cake
A fun afternoon, where everyone could build their own fajita with toppings that included cumin and lime grilled steak, achiote spiced shredded chicken and a vegan bean and sweet potato chilli. Add green rice, picco de gallo, sour cream, avocado, coriander yoghurt and jalapenos to soft flour wraps to your taste!
UK Coffee Week - 10th to 16th April
With a huge coffee revolution on in London at the moment, UK Coffee Week was bound to be a success. We serve some amazing coffee at most of our sites, but the week gave us a reason to bring this coffee into our food. Delicious coffee cheesecake, cappuccino cupcakes were in order. But we also got coffee into savory food - who knew coffee mayonnaise would be so scrummy?
Seoul food - Korean themed menu
Korean food is getting really popular and we celebrated food from this region with Korean glazed chicken thighs, braised pork belly, mixed banchan and the spicy tofu soup were very popular!
National Tea Day - 21st April
Never underes-tea-mate what tea brings to food. Tea smoked salmon sandwiches, matcha, earl grey and roiboos infused chocolate truffles were a great hit!
On the eve of Earth day, we took up the ‘Better Burger’ challenge. Made with organic meat, vegetables and dairy and these burgers will not only tickle your taste buds but are also kinder to the planet. Read more about these burgers here.
British Beef Week - 24th to 28th April
Great British Beef Week puts the spotlight firmly on the fantastic food that British beef farmers produce. We showed our support by featuring British beef on our menu throughout the week - salt beef, steak & kidney pie, rare roast beef, roast rib of beef, tacos with beef fillings such as slow braised brisket w/ beer & onions, sautéed beef rump w/ mushrooms & beef tongue w/ crumbled feta.
Pop up's / Demo's
Chocolate egg decoration
Pimp up that chocolate egg. We got Cocoa Den to a couple of our clients ahead of Easter to add some fun to chocolate eggs. Everyone had a great time decorating and painting away. Plenty of chocolate was eaten. No hiding though!
Never knew decorating cookies could be such an elaborate affair! The folks at The Crockett & Cook company do know how!! Such a wonderful event and not only pretty but incredibly tasty homemade cookies.
Wheatgrass shots and fruit kebabs
A really healthy treat to help with the 4pm snack craving. Even better when it’s wheeled around the office!
Slow’n’Slaw Taco bar
Chef Susi took our taco bar to it’s last outing for a while - this time toppings included: Bajan ox cheek, Korean lamb and bbq chicken (and a hidden stash of tofu for our veggie diners) with slaws and sauces to match. The queues were out the door. Need we say more?
Everyone had a GINTASTIC time at The Little Gin & Co’s gin tasting and cocktail masterclass at Twitter. Not only did we learn about botanicals, but also about all the latest gins in town
